More and more veterans are starting to turn to psychedelic plant-based medicine to help with Anger, TBIs and PTSD, because the VA’s way of treatments, don’t always work. So this week we are continuing on with the psychedelic healing series. In this episode I have my close friend Tom Kapstrom on the show. Tom shares his experience that he recently had with an Ibogaine treatment. You will hear the process of what he went through, how he felt during the treatment and the type of “journey” it led him on. Adam Zaffuto is a Husband, Father, Jiu Jitsu evangelist, Veteran, and proponent of Psychedelic healing. After serving as an Infantryman in Iraq and Afghanistan Adam returned home with a diagnosis of PTSD and began the process of seeking healing from the Moral Injury he sustained during his combat tours. After years of counseling he felt like he was doing well until the collapse of Afghanistan reopened old wounds. Becoming a new father alongside the terrible events in Afghanistan rocked his world and sent him into a downward spiral. When approached about exploring Psychedelics in a healing context he jumped at the opportunity and it had made all the difference in his life.

What can wartime leaders throughout history teach us about effective leadership? In this episode I had the honor of sitting down with Retired U.S. Army Colonel, Christopher D. Kolenda, Ph.D. We get into a deep discussion about the three perspectives that are vital to have when learning about leadership. We talk about how leaders can help inspire their people to be their best for the teams success.
He shares a incredible Decision Hour story about a time in Afghanistan in 2007 with his Afghan Army Counterpart, and a local village.
Before closing up the show we talk about a journey that Christopher is about to embark on. During the interview he mention the names of the six Paratroopers that were killed in Action. We are near the 15 year anniversary and Christopher is going to be traveling about 1700 miles on a bicycle visiting their graves. They are spread across from Nebraska all the way to Arlington National Cemetery.
